Near the top of this
photograph, on the lake, directly above the ducks, you will see a
dot on the water. That dot is the first "duck blind" to grace
Au Train Lake in preparation for the 2002 duck hunting season.
The blind is actually a pontoon boat with some camouflage on it. Last year, there were eight or
nine duck blinds on the lake, so I'm sure we'll be seeing more on
the lake very soon.
The snapping turtle
eggs hatched last night. We didn't find any of the hatchlings
this morning while working around the dock and the beach, but we
could see dozens of their tracks leading down to water's edge.

Next to his
two tents was a 35-foot RV, a Sandpiper with a
slideout room, two motorcycles, and a rug of Astroturf in
front of the door.
It had what a lot of big RV's have these days: an
SUV attached to it.

in a New York Times article titled
Battle Under the
Firs: The RV's vs. the Tents.
