they keep the coyotes in cages
---------------------

Hornets are building a
nest under the eave of our Crow's Nest Cottage. They don't
like it when I slam the back door of the cottage. In fact,
they get upset and very agitated. So now, when I go out the
door, I close it very gently. We're getting along just fine
now. This is proof positive that we don't have to follow our
initial impulse to eradicate, poison, or destroy "pests." You
can learn to live with most of them. In fact, you can take
advantage of their strengths. If you're looking for an
effective deterrent to burglars or unwanted guests, I wholeheartedly
recommend an active hornet's nest near the entrance to your house.
There is another secret to not getting stung when you enter the
cottage, but if I told you what it was, would-be burglars would use
it.

Being
a consumer, though, he loves the challenge of deer. He's tried
everything at www.deerbuster.com. "I spent $100 on soap, but
it doesn't last after a rain," he said. "I was going to try
coyote urine, but that's a horrible thing. They keep the
coyotes in cages."
Anne Raver,
quoting Neil Kraft, in her article in
the The New York Times titled
An Adman Whose Fantasy Was Hardly The Hamptons.
