Well, it's high summer and the AuTrain area seems very crowded. There seems to be too many personal watercraft on the lake making too much noise. A ban on jet skis in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore went into place on April 22 by court order, until the National Park Service can complete a detailed study on their impacts to the environment and to other users. This is great news to anyone wanting to take the Pictured Rocks Cruises trip along the lakeshore this summer. This summer at least, you will be able to enjoy the lakeshore cruise without the noise pollution from jet skis ripping through the experience. With any luck, they'll ban the damn things for good.
