peering over the edge of the boat
---------------------

It was very windy
today, but mild with temperatures near 60. The twins couldn't
wait to take the tarps off of the
DanaBall games.
As you can see in the photograph, the trees are still thinking about
leaves.
--------------------
And he began to sink. And as he sank he
could just see his dogs come to full alert,
peering over the edge of the boat, understanding
everything, absolutely everything about this
moment for their pal, the owner, the master, the human.
And there was sincerity and sorrow in their eyes.
Curtis White,
author of Requiem.
