a child is not a salmon mousse
---------------------

Today's photo shows
our twins getting some ice fishing pointers from their Grandfather.
The twins got a lot of nibbles, but never quite succeeded in
actually pulling a fish out of the lake. Grandpa showed them
how by catching four Perch.
Temperatures have
dropped below freezing again and we are expecting daytime highs in
the 20's. I just finished reading the third Harry Potter book,
The Prisoner of Azkaban, to the twins. We have already
read the first chapter of The Goblet of Fire.
--------------------
A child is not a salmon mousse. A child
is a temporarily disabled and stunted version of a
larger person, whom you will someday know.
Your job is to help them overcome the disabilities
associated with their size and inexperience so that they get on
with being that larger person.
