NaNoWriMo Day 30
what it looks out on
---------------------

Two curious swans
surprised us this afternoon at Dana's lakefront. The twins fed
them a little bread and they let us watch for quite a while.
What a month! I
started November 1st as a member of the National Novel Writing Month
(NaNoWriMo) 2001 team with a goal to write 50,000 words by the end
of the month. I finished my 50,145 word novel on November
28th. It was a fantastic experience (though some family
members may not be quite as enthusiastic).
NaNoWriMo isn't about
the idea of writing. The NaNoWriMo
message is you're not writing unless you're actually writing.
NaNoWriMo is the opposite of not writing.
NaNoWriMo founder
Chris Baty said that NaNoWriMo is about
"the glow from making big, messy art, and watching others make
big, messy art."
I couldn't agree more.

It is impossible for me to envisage a picture as
being other than a window, and why my
first concern is then to know what it looks out on.
