What in the funny heck is saucerin'?
---------------------

We
worked a little on our autumn projects today. The weather was
overcast, but not too cold. I stopped at the entrance to the
resort to snap this photograph.
Today's quote about saucerin' is from Curtis White, one of my
favorite authors. My great grandfather, William Taylor, was a
saucerin' man.

Tuck, on the other hand, pours his coffee from
the cup into the saucer, hence to his thirsty lips.
Maggie
says, "Pa, that's not very polite."
Tuck replies, "Maggie, when a man's been saucerin'
for forty years it's too late to make him change his ways."
"What
in the funny heck is saucerin', son?
Do you know? Do you believe this prime-time crapola?
Saucerin'! [sings] I'm a saucerin' man, done a lot of saucerin'
. . . hee hee. . ."
Curtis White,
from the Bonanza chapter of his novel
"Memories of My Father Watching Television."
