his lunches were
nightmarish in their eccentricity
---------------------

We have been
enduring oppressively hot weather the past couple of days, with
relief still a day or two away. We purchased additional
electric fans so that each cabin has at least one fan. Today's
photo was taken on the main street of Trenary, MI. Near the
center of the photo, you can see the checkerboard tower of Holmquist
Feed Mill. The twins lucked out today as the brooders at the
mill contained dozens of day-old chicks.
So far, we have
identified over 15 projects to be scheduled for completion this
coming autumn and spring of 2002. We are totally resolved to
maintaining Dana's position as one of the best vacation values on Au Train
Lake. I am totally confident that guests will be pleased with
the improvements and new amenities.

"There was always
that one kid against the fence. How could the rest of us feel
Okay if there wasn't? If it was a guy, there was probably a
trumpet case at this feet and he wore strangely scuffed shoes,
because he avoided the foot traffic on sidewalks and walked instead
through weedy lots with dogs yipping at him. He didn't end up
at that station only because his lunches were nightmarish in their
eccentricity, but his lunches didn't help."
