July 14, 2001Bunny Burgers---------------------This morning, while cleaning the boats and filling gasoline containers, I heard the characteristic high-pitched droning sound of the cicada. I checked the journal for last year and discovered that I heard my first cicada of 2000 on July 17th.
Saturdays at Dana's are always busy. This week we had changeovers in seven of our eight cabins, so the crew was busy! Our daughters have really contributed to the effort this summer.
-------------------- At Spy in the '80s, I would pretend to be the president of Bunny Burgers and we would tell people that we had a restaurant where you could pick out a bunny and we'd skin it and kill it and make a hamburger. So we went around to nine P.R. firms and said we wanted them to take the account. Six of them responded. We have this great tape of them coming in and wanting to do the Bunny Burgers account and I could always keep a straight face. - Joe Queenan
