up in the rafters
---------------------

This is a
photograph of the northeast corner of Au Train Lake. The ice
continues to melt and recede, but most of the lake is still covered
with ice.
It's a nice
sunny day, but temperatures are still on the cool side. I
walked to Cameron Crossing today. There was a fisherman
preparing for some Steelhead fishing. At Doucette Bridge, I
saw some folks getting ready to launch their kayaks.

"No, Son,
that's not nothin'. I can only wish you were doin' nothin'.
Nothin' would be a big step up from this. Compared to this,
nothin' gets your name on a banner high up in the rafters of the
high-school gymnasium. So, no, it's not nothin'. It's
the quality of the somethin' that I'm wondering about."
