My Dad and Mom finished winterizing the yurt by placing insulated panels over the windows and under the clear plastic dome.  They also finished putting conventional insulation under the perimeter of the deck.

I've started raking leaves around the rec center and near the yurt.  There is still one maple tree stubbornly holding on to its leaves.  There are many leaves and a lot of work left to do.

We received our large Amazon.Com order today!

"... a culture spending its time as it spends its money; springing well beyond the elements of food, clothes, and shelter into the suffocating welter of the unnecessary that has become necessary."

- From Jim Harrison, "The Beast God Forgot to Invent"

welter: a confused mass; a jumble.
