We field-tripped to
Munising to chat with the wood stain wise man at Hiawatha Log
Homes. We're getting ready to stain some tongue and groove for
the interior ceiling of the Crow's Nest cottage.
|
| We took Highway 94 so we could
enjoy the spectacular views of autumn foliage on this beautiful sunny
day. This little pond is visible from the highway and is a few miles
east of Ackerman Lake.

I apologize for the
recent spate of quotes from Jack Kerouac. I recently finished On
the Road and have started Desolation Angels. I read
On the Road when I was in high school, but now, so many years
later (well, not that many) it is almost entirely NEW to
me! You'll have to tolerate a few more Kerouac quotes while I
dawdle through Desolation Angels.
I've been researching a
new novel for the past month or so and hope to get started on that
soon. We have one more week of guests and then we go into
hibernation until the opening of the firearm deer season.

"Hey Jane!" he yelled gleefully. "I was just telling Dean and Sal
about my aunt in the Casbah!"
"I heard you," she said across the lovely warm Gulf morning from
the kitchen door.
