Resonating Urgency
---------------------

It has been a busy summer
so far! We have been full since the very first week of
June. Except for a few minor glitches, the old resort has been
plugging right along! Our business plan is working
beautifully.
After a few close calls
between children and vehicles, we changed the parking policy a few weeks
ago. There is no parking adjacent to ANY of the cabins.
All vehicles and trailers are being parked behind the rec center in
the parking lot we built in 1999. Guests may drive to the
cabins twice, once to unload on arrival, and once to load in
preparation for departure.
The new policy is working
extremely well. There have been some unforeseen
benefits! In addition to a much safer environment for
children, it is also noticeably quieter and there are fewer
obstructions to views of the lake. It's amazing how much noise is generated by
vehicles being started and car doors being slammed! We
still allow those with disabilities to park next to their
cottage. The criteria we use is very simple: if
you can walk to your boat on the dock, then you will park behind the
rec center.
Several guests have
commented that this is one of the best changes we have made to
Dana's Lakeside Resort. I am confident you will too!
