a very kooky time
---------------------
Memorial
Day weekend was a year 2000 shakedown cruise for the U.S.S. Dana's Lakeside
Resort. We survived with only a few minor brushes with
disaster. We are less prone to panic in our third year.
We are stronger and more resilient now.
We spent
the last couple of days removing the dead carpet from Cabin 4.
We also removed the old floor tile that we found under the old
carpet. The old curtains have been taken down. With any
luck, Cabin 4 should be transformed by Saturday with new Congoleum
in the kitchen, new carpet in the living room and new
curtains. It is also slated to receive a new range/oven.
We insulated the cabin last autumn so we wouldn't freeze while doing
our Big Blue work. The cabin also received a new roof this
spring. All in all, the cabin has been well rewarded for it's
faithful service this past winter!
We have
purchased several cords of firewood in preparation for the nightly
campfire. I'm looking forward to good conversation and roasting a few
marshmallows!

Here
is a sunset view of Lake Au Train from the shore in front of
the Crow's Nest cottage. After a very busy day, Amy's
parents invited us to dinner. We walked down to the
Crow's Nest to unwind and drink some coffee.
