I
took the twins to the beach at Au Train Bay. They had
a great time chasing the waves and getting their feet
wet. It was still very windy and our ears got
cold. We enjoyed the smell of the excellent clean air
by the lake.
|
We had the whole beach to
ourselves. It's only a few weeks until Walleye opener and we'll be
sharing our corner of the U.P. again. We also explored the Au Train
River where it empties into Lake Superior.

Don't
forget to review the new pictures on the Photo
Page, there are a couple of pictures of the river
and yesterday's sunrise.
|
On the way home, we stopped by
the new Au Train Sports Shop! They are now open for business.
They have really accomplished a lot in a short period of time. I
created a small page with more pictures of the Sports
Shop. Click here or on Sports
Shop to learn more.

Dana's is the only resort
on the lake that doesn't have special names for each of the
cottages. The other resorts use the names of trees, animals,
fish, etc. but I am toying with using the names of my favorite
authors. Wouldn't you love to stay in the e. e. cummings or
Kerouac cottage? How about the Brautigan or Vonnegut
cottages? Maybe you would consider staying in the Dylan Thomas
or J. D. Salinger cottages?
I think for now, I'll
take the advice of one of our guests and use names like 1, 2, 3, 4,
5... I think she had it right!
Don't forget that I
modified the DanaCam
page yesterday to include a link to the Alger
County Weather Forecast web site. Clicking on the link
will open a new instance of your browser so you can check out the
weather forecast.
