It's the Size of the
Waves
--------------------
Yesterday, we went into
Munising to do our getting-stuff-for-kids-lunches shopping and
stopped on the way home for Dairy Queen Blizzard treats.
I don't know about the DQ
in your town, but up here they turn the Blizzards upside down when
they serve them, presumably to remind us that these shakes are
extremely thick. I begged the young lady serving us not to
turn mine upside down because it makes me crazy, but she did it
anyway. Aaaarrrrgggghhh! She couldn't help it of course,
I'm sure the people who trained her made sure she never forgot this
part of the presentation.
When we go to McDonald's,
some members of our family (I won't reveal any names) like their Big
Mac without cheese and without special sauce. Another member
of our family likes Filet of Fish without tartar sauce. I
can't tell you how many times we have had to return a sandwich
because the people preparing them just can't keep themselves from
putting a slice of cheese and the special sauce on the Big Mac, and
tartar sauce on the Filet of Fish!
Mistakes like that don't
really bother me very much because I know just how much stress the
food preparation people endure in their quest for prompt speedy
service.
Amy was fired-up today
and she is really itching to get the new projects underway.
She made MANY phone calls today:
 |
Cabin 4 and the
pumphouse will be getting new roofs in the next week or
two. |
 |
We are getting a
larger dumpster because the one we have is simply too small
during peak season. |
 |
More Lake Superior
sand for the beach and gravel for the new location of the
dumpster. |
 |
We're moving the
propane tank from it's current location to a spot behind the rec
center where it will be better protected and less of an eyesore. |
 |
We are putting in a
20 x 20 basketball court just to the west of the small shed on
the north side of the property. |
 |
We contacted the
electrician who will be wiring the yurt. |
 |
We firmed-up the new
dock order. We'll be picking up the new dock in a couple
of weeks. |
