Return from Spring Break

Last week was "Spring Break" at the kid's schools.  Spring has not yet appeared at Dana's Lakeside Resort, but it's thinking about it.  We spent a week-long adventure in Chicago!

We field-tripped to the Shedd Aquarium, Brookfield Zoo, Disney Quest, Museum of Science and Industry, Woodfield Mall, Old Navy, REI and the Sear's Tower.  That was our first day...<grin>  Gene and Jude's (the picture on the right) is a great Chicago hotdog stand, Amy's personal favorite.

Amy and her Mother are very partial to Garrett's Popcorn in the Loop area of Chicago.  Excellent caramel corn and cheese popcorn.  It's worth the effort to pick some up.  We brought a small supply back to Yooperland. 

It was a fantastic Spring Break.  We will miss the excellent restaurants we visited.  We will miss the exciting cultural opportunities. 

We won't miss the constant sulfur smell from coal-fired electric generating plants.  We won't miss the million or so other cars crowding the Chicago area roads.  We won't miss standing in line.

It's nice to be back home.
