Wake-up Call

Nature
gave us a wake-up call last night! We went from 60+
degrees yesterday to 40 mph gusts and drifting and blowing
snow this morning. The snow has stopped, but the winds
are still strong.
|
The Au Train - Onota School closed for
the day, too much drifting snow on the roads. Superior Central
School did not close. The high winds and drifting snow were
pretty much isolated to the Lake Superior vicinity and the southern
part of Alger County wasn't hit as hard.

I'm
now an official member of the Appalachian Trail
Conference. I also received the Thru-hiker's Starter
Pack: Appalachian Trail Thru-Hiker's Companion, Appalachian
Trail Data Book 2000, Appalachian Trail Workbook for
Planning Thru-hikes, a decal, a patch and a three hour video
on how to hike the trail. It's enough to take my mind
off of winter for a little while.
