More Scott Falls

0305webc.jpg (40111 bytes)It was another spectacular sunny day.  The high temperature today was near 50 degrees.  The entire family field-tripped to Scott Falls again.

Our original plan was to explore the Rock River Canyon and the Rock River Falls, but the forest road leading to the falls was still snow-covered and too hazardous.  We just couldn't chance it with the old Chevy van.  It is a 4 mile hike back to the falls from H01.

On our way to Munising to do our weekly grocery shopping, we decided to hike to the top of Scott falls.  We parked about 1/2 mile away near the old railroad grade and hiked to the top of the falls.  We had a really great time exploring it from the top and later in the "cave" behind the falls.

I have several new pictures of the falls on the photo page.  This is one of my favorites.  This is the curtain of ice you see as you peer out from the cave behind the falls.
