Appalachian Trail
About this time every
year, I start dreaming about hiking the Appalachian Trail. The Appalachian Trail is a continuous
marked footpath that goes from Mt. Katahdin in
Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia, a distance of about 2,160 miles.
I won't bore journal readers with
my Appalachian Trail obsession, unless I happen to change my mind
and do it anyway.
We are enjoying a very
sunny, but cool, day here on Au Train
Lake.
I
booked another cabin this morning and turned away another potential
guest who was looking for lodging in July. I hate to turn
people away. We know that in our own small way we are
attracting folks to the Au Train area and providing opportunities
for some of our competition.
We watched a downy
woodpecker for several minutes on the bird feeder near the
house. We received a dusting of snow yesterday, enough to
cover the few bare patches of ground.
