Munising Bay
What a beautiful sunny
day! The entire family field-tripped to Munising Bay to investigate
the ice fishing shack village.
|
 |
The two fishermen in the picture told
us how thick the ice is (over a foot!) and the kind of fish they
were catching (whitefish). There was a strong cold wind from
the south, but they were well dressed for the weather.
|

|
This
was one of the more artistic shacks. The shacks come in all shapes,
sizes and colors. There were many fisherfolk on the ice today.
|
We then drove west on H58 until we hit the Bear Trap bar/restaurant.
The Bear Trap is a favorite stop for the snowmobilers. It is located
about 10 miles west of Munising at the junction of H58 and H15 near
Shingleton, MI.
