January 19, 2000ForecastingThe Weather Service has predicted 6 to 14 inches of snow today. The prediction covers a pretty wide range! The new down comforters we purchased for the kids arrived today. They are thrilled! They'll all be warm and snug tonight. It has been a very quiet day at the resort. I responded to several email messages this morning and read the Tuesday newspaper. Business is brisk at the restaurants and motels in Munising. There have been 8 snowmobile fatalities so far this year. The U.P. is already ahead of the pace set last year when 19 snowmobilers lost their lives. The construction of the new addition to the Kewadin Casino in Christmas is progressing slowly. It's tough to lay bricks in the winter up here.
