Melting Snow
The lake is like a mirror this
morning, no wind, no waves. The snow is all gone except for a few
stalwart patches. The temperature is already near 40.
You can take an almost live look at the DanaCam.
Yesterday, we were able to sneak away
to Marquette without any of the kids. This is a truly
remarkable accomplishment! We ate a great breakfast at the
Family Restaurant, part of the Edgewater Motel, located between
Harvey and Marquette.
 |
There
was a ship unloading coal at the power plant and I snapped a few digital
photographs. Trips to Marquette remind me of some of the advantages
of living in the city: traffic, road rage, crowds, traffic lights...

The kids have swimming lessons today
so we will be driving back to Marquette this afternoon. I have
been pressing the trailer demolition guy for a price and he came in
$1400.00 above the number we discussed on the phone! I already
have a second estimate that is $800.00 less than his. The
trailer seems to have a force of its own, hindering its demise at
every step.
I'm looking forward to listening to A
Prairie Home Companion tonight. Support your local public
radio station!
