Ice in the Rabbit's Water
Dish
Temperatures have been dipping well below
the freezing mark. I had to thaw the ice in the rabbit's water
dish. It was a beautiful sunny day and it warmed up quickly.
We are trying to finalize the plans for
2000. We have a long list of projects but only a little bit of
time next spring to get them all completed. I'll be creating a
"New for 2000" page pretty soon.
I am also starting to work on the letter
we send to guests every winter. Season's end is a good time to
reflect on what we have accomplished and to focus on new projects.
Monetary rewards are not the primary reason we purchased the resort.
The resort pays its own way with a little left over for improvements.
It still requires a large financial investment on our part to make the
major improvements we have planned. When we purchased Dana's, we
weren't buying a business to provide our livelihood, but rather a
lifestyle we can afford to subsidize.
The challenge of running a resort while working our regular jobs and
raising a family can be a little stressful at times! Running a
resort is tough, physical work.
Our mission is to do everything we can to make our guest's vacation
time a happy time. There is great satisfaction in being
appreciated for playing a small part in improving the quality of
someone's life and creating lifetime memories.
