Power Was Restored

Last night the wind was still incredibly strong and loud.  It was difficult to sleep.  I woke up this morning and inspected the resort.  We lost a large evergreen at the top of the retaining wall in front of Cabin 6.  We are fortunate that it did not cause extensive damage.  We all feel a little sad about the loss though.

We traveled to Marquette today so the kids could attend their swimming class.  The class is held at the Northern Michigan University pool adjacent to the Superior Dome.  We saw some snow, but it was barely enough to write about.

We lost electric service again today!  It went out again last night  and was restored about an hour later.  About ten minutes later it went out again and remained off.  We took off for Marquette in the morning and power was restored by the time we got home.  There have been three separate trees that have fallen across the power lines.  The winds are slowing down a little  and we hope that things settle down a little on the electric power front!

Our very last guests left today.  For the first time since Walleye opener in May, Dana's Lakeside Resort is without guests!  We are in a mini shutdown mode at this point.  The resort is reserved for the first week of firearm deer season in November and then we shut the place down!
